Discover Bosso Ramen Tavern

If you're looking for an authentic ramen experience in Cambridge, look no further than Bosso Ramen Tavern. Nestled in the heart of Cambridge at 24 Holyoke St, this cozy eatery has quickly become a local favorite for those craving rich, flavorful ramen that delivers on both taste and quality.

From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed into a warm, inviting atmosphere that combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern twist. The minimalist decor creates a comfortable and relaxed space, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or a quiet solo dining experience. The kitchen is open, allowing diners to witness the skilled chefs at work, crafting each bowl with care and precision.

The menu at Bosso Ramen Tavern is thoughtfully curated to offer a variety of ramen options, each with its own unique blend of flavors. Whether you're in the mood for a classic tonkotsu broth or something with a bit more spice, there’s something for everyone. Their signature dish, the Bosso Ramen, is a must-try for first-timers. The rich, creamy broth is made from slow-cooked pork bones, while the perfectly cooked noodles provide the ideal texture. Topped with tender slices of chashu pork, a soft-boiled egg, and fresh green onions, it’s a comforting bowl of goodness that will transport you straight to Japan.

For those who prefer a lighter option, the miso ramen is a popular choice. The miso broth is flavorful without being overwhelming, and it pairs wonderfully with the crispy fried tofu and vegetables that top the dish. It's a great option for vegetarians or anyone looking for a more delicate flavor profile.

What truly sets Bosso Ramen Tavern apart, however, is its attention to detail. Every dish is made with the finest ingredients, from the carefully sourced pork to the house-made noodles that are cooked to perfection. The chefs take the time to perfect each bowl, ensuring that every customer receives a dish that’s both delicious and satisfying.

If you’re not in the mood for ramen, the tavern also offers a variety of appetizers and side dishes that complement the main menu. The gyoza, pan-fried dumplings filled with savory pork and vegetables, are a great starter. Pair them with one of the restaurant’s signature cocktails or a cold beer for the perfect meal.

The service at Bosso Ramen Tavern is another highlight. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to recommend the perfect dish based on your preferences. Whether you're a ramen connoisseur or a first-time visitor, they’ll ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of excellent.

Located just a short walk from the bustling streets of Harvard Square, Bosso Ramen Tavern is an ideal spot for both locals and visitors alike. Whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, you’re guaranteed to leave satisfied.

With its authentic flavors, welcoming ambiance, and top-notch service, Bosso Ramen Tavern has earned its place as a standout in the Cambridge food scene. If you're in the area, don’t miss the opportunity to experience one of the best bowls of ramen around.

Reviews

  • Upscale, dark atmosphere and such kind, welcoming staff. Selection was interesting and unique. A bit pricey but not much more than the typical ramen restaurant in the Boston area. Chewy, bouncy noodles and a rich, salty broth.

  • Very busy place, be sure to make a reservation! When we arrived on a Saturday evening, I overheard that the wait for 4 was 1.5 hours. The vibe is very dark (maybe a little too much?) There is bar seating and tables of 4. The yuzu soda was really good and one of us got one of the cocktails which was also great. Our party of 4 got a wide range of their ramens which were all great. The noodle shapes complimented the broths. The vegan one was also very good. My only comment would be that the portion sizes seem to be on the smaller side. Overall, lovely dinner and would recommend.

  • Vegan ramen wasn’t that flavorful, had too many walnuts and not enough soy protein. Noodle texture was good though, and lovely vibe + service. Edamame hummus is good

  • Amazing flavors and they’re always consistent. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. I even tried their vegetarian ramen and was very impressed. I love the minimalistic yet warm and cozy vibe in here. This is one of my very top spots in Harvard/Boston area.

  • Ramen and broth was very delicious. Went with the lunch set, included a rice and charsu bowl and 1 sushi hand roll

  • The yuzu ramen was delicious, but the macha ice cream with sweet potatoes stole the show for me. The flavor of the ice cream complemented the sweetness of the sweet potato beautifully with a constrat of temperature as well. Amazing!

  • Stopped by Bosso around 5 PM for an early dinner on a Saturday. The whole staff shouts out a welcome when you walk in, which is fun and sets a nice tone. The place looks great and service was on point throughout. Good is beautifully plated! We started with the edamame shiromiso hummus and ume fried gyoza. The hummus had nice flavor and came with chips. In my opinion, it would've been better served with bread. The gyoza though? Absolutely killed it. Best thing we had all night. We moved on to sushi and got the spicy salmon and tuna avocado hand rolls. The spicy salmon was so good we ordered another round. The tuna avocado was fine, nothing to write home about. Next, we ordered the karami ramen (we added an egg). This dish was a disappointment. It's advertised as spicy, which was why we ordered it but I found it bland and not spicy at all. We even got the spicy oil on the side. Zero spice. Not even a hint. For a dish that's supposed to have heat, this was seriously a letdown. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff really do make the experience enjoyable, but if you're expecting any actual spice from the spicy dishes, you're going to be let down. Order the gyoza and you'll be happy.

  • Really great ramen destination in Cambridge. The staff is so kind, and I love the welcome they shout as you enter. The ramen was so yummy and the noodles were plentiful. I recommend both the lighter broth as well as the traditional. I’d definitely go back and recommend.
